Our mission is to make the community affordable for new residents moving in, but most importantly, existing residents. Over the past couple of years, there has been a great deal of investments made in improving the housing stock; which is great. However, we have not done a good job of ensuring that long standing community residents can continue to live in the neighborhood along with their families. I would like to introduce a bill requiring that preference is granted for existing residents in regards to new development projects. This would more appropriately maintain a community’s affordability for every family seeking to live in the district – both, new and old.
